A Canvas Remembrance, Friday 8:00-10:30a
A Canvas Remembrance
When: Friday, August 9, 8:00a - 10:30a
Instructor: Connie Williams
In this workshop, you’ll create your own piece of art on an 8″ x 10″ white framed canvas. Using your own treasured photo or clip art as your focal point, you’ll stencil and add embellishments such as lace, metal pieces, flowers, buttons, and ephemera to make this a one-of-a-kind art. No experience needed; your creativity will lead you to a piece that you will treasure for yourself or give as a gift. Each student will also receive a free kit containing a 4″ x 6″ burlap canvas and embellishments to start using toward the end of class or take home to work on. Provided items include canvas, lace, buttons, metal pieces, jewelry pieces, ribbons, paper ephemera, clip art, and spray paints.
Bring: One 2 1/2″–3″ W x 4 1/4″ H photograph (matte gives a vintage look) or clip art, cardstock to back your photo/clip art, 2–3 complementary acrylic paints, collage medium, small paintbrushes (or blending tools), and 2–3 markers to complement your color scheme.
Optional: any personal items (such as jewelry or metal pieces) you may want to include.
PLEASE NOTE: There are no refunds for classes once they have been purchased.
